Breaking news, team No Biggie did the sneaky and got married in Adelaide last October. We went on a short, yet highly indulgent honeymoon to Victoria. I know what you’re thinking – this sounds totally out of character…

Brae

First stop was Birregurra, an hour west-ish of Melbourne. A quintessential small country town, with a pub, a bakery and one of Australia’s best restaurants – Brae. We spent a glorious Sunday afternoon lunching at Brae, we were the first to arrive and quite possibly the last to leave. Everything about our meal was absolute perfection. We took a mid lunch walk through their extensive kitchen garden, with a glass of Beaujolais in hand.

The Royal Mail Hotel

Next stop was Dunkeld in the Southern Grampians. A spectacular spot and home to The Royal Mail Hotel. A great place to spend a couple of nights – many a hike to do, wine cellars to raid and food to be eaten.

Wickens – the newly opened restaurant at The Royal Mail hotel. Hot tip – book a table before the sun sets. The view from your table will be amazing. We had a very delicious, very memorable meal and a fine bottle of Montrachet. Plus it was great to only have to trot 100 metres back to bed.

All in all a brief but extremely satisfying way to begin married life.
